not for tmobile connect. It's pretty bare bones as far as features, but the coverage is solid and IMO it's one of the best deals in wireless service out there.

I'm unable to find anything in the FAQ that confirms it's a soft-cap. I strongly suspect they copied that text from other plans and forgot to edit it. You are reading a lot into that one line.

I don't think that's correct. $15 for 3 month is new customer promo. After the 3 months it's regular price, $30 for unlimited data when you pay for 12 months.

The only issue is that ping is 300 to 400ms as all data traffic is routed through Hong Kong - still, phenomenal backup/secondary service!

I don't believe you have to give your SSN unless you're going postpaid (which usually isn't worth it). You can also protect your credit card by getting a "virtual" one at privacy.com (or their app)....

Yes. I use a VPN to protect my data but the ping is horrible. Personally for me, I haven’t been hugely inconvenienced by it.
