You might be able to replace the regulator, I did that on mine (different brand) and I'm pretty sure I could melt the surface now.

I bought this griddle about 3 months and I haven't been terribly happy with it. It has lower BTU's than the standard Blackstone 36" grill. It just doesn't get hot enough to get a good sear on meat....

I picked one up from Clearance Friday the 8th for 167. Apparently that's the lowest they'll go before sending them back to the manufacturer.
