If its their first RC car then yes it will be great to learn on. Its fun because you can play with together with your kids which I found to be the most valuable thing. Plus it is pretty stinking...

Bought these for my kids (4&5) and they are complete garbage. Tires fall off constantly and burn through batteries. Wouldn't recommend and regret buying them last time they were this price.
