I had this issue years ago as well and the same process happened. I remember it being a huge hassle to do so I'm not going to worry about the $10 I didn't get. Oh well.

Detroit area said they could not sell any gift cards due to “systems issues” … no $ on them. Apparently for multiple days with no resolution. Chain is a joke.
