Even though its on an outlet by its self the whole room is probably on the same circuit. You need an electrician to run a dedicated line to one of the outlets.

The company probably is trying to clear out inventory before the winter is gone. The unit heats well for only the small room or bathroom but has no much effects on the large space such as living room.
