Yeah same here. At first the special edition would only play in SD or HDX (1080p). But after closing the app out, the UHD/4K version showed up.

Yes, I just bought the VUDU 4K Theatrical Edition for $5. In the Bonus Features is the Aliens Special Edition. Ironically it's called a "featurette" even though the run time is 2:34.
