This is true but they (Microsoft) do replace with, in my experience, a brand new one if you have issues within a year. I set a reminder on my phone and pretty much always exchange it. I have been...

Right bumper took a dump right after the warranty period with light use. I'd never buy one again.

Unfortunately, this hasn't been my experience. I agree that the Microsoft device warranty is nice, but I've sent them back the same controller three times now and it has come back with the same exact...

Holy crap! I didn't realize these controllers had such issues. I was considering buying an untested second hand one, but not now. If new is already risky , used is too risky. Thanks, fellow...

Me too. My launch era Elite 2 went 4 years before it developed a dead spot in the left stick. I have soldering skills so I took it apart and replaced the stick. Back in business. Also have a white...

“Original” controllers use the same internal switches/components and therefore are essentially of the same “quality”. You are paying for the accessories, a little better casing and the back...

Easily fixed. It's a membrane switch.

I found out the hard way that is a no. You are given the back buttons but you can’t reprogram them to like do a a different sequence. It is really just to have another place to do the action. I...

I have two of these. Only ever used it for COD and the upper left back paddle doesn't work right any more. It's the default A button and to get it to register I have the press tf out of it. Made me...

Yes that is true. extended warranty is invaluable for this controller given the numerous cases of drift issue and such. Just know that it is not entirely from Walmart as to go to Walmart customer...

I have 2 elite series 2 since they launched and have had zero issues with them (no drift issued or issues with the shoulder buttons, face buttons, etc.) having said that i still recommend extended...

You’re kind of stuck if you want to play in an Xbox wirelessly (which is pretty relevant now that most TVs are 65+”. I’d tend to agree on PC and switch, where newer companies in China are...

You can buy a 3 year extended warranty from Xbox directly, but you have to do it over the phone at their 1-800 number it was like $20 if I remember correctly. I did this with mine when I got it...

For the love of god get the insurance/warranty. First one bumper stopped working. The next one trigger was hit and miss.

Agreed! Been that price for a little while now. Got gamestop to match it last weekend so I was able to use my $5 monthly pro credit and some rewards points I'd built up, too.

Why get this over a regular Xbox controller? The extra buttons? Is anything else better about it quality wise?
Post #172307037 added 08-11-2024 1:03 PM by hotgrease in Deal Talk
There are a lot of improvements in materials and functionality but the reliability is a lot lower. I personally wouldn’t go back to the standard Xbox controller.
Post #172305402 added 08-11-2024 10:45 AM by DD99 in Deal Talk
Please stop buying these controllers. Both this and the core are planned obsolescence, money grab devices that are designed to fail in significant numbers.

Even at $80 it's a ripoff. They make these for 15$.

There is no better Xbox style controller. Ignore the "sky is falling". Get the warranty for peace of mind.
