It’s annoying but I believe you can rebook and cancel again and get another year. I use Alaska all the time so it’s not a big deal to me but agree that part is annoying but can be addressed

I bought a ticket less than 200, then added a upgrade, got charged the base ticket and the upgrade separately....so dumb. Anyone else experience this, looks like i will cancel and rebook a base fare...
