The reason we had those good days was because we didn't have access to smartphones back then.
Smartphone shopping from anywhere, deal comparison, etc. slowly eliminated that.

yeah and jcpenny gave out christmas ornaments every year. Now everyone wants to decrease the discount and have black friday for 2 weeks or more. It's pointless to even call it black friday anymore....
