The lens is hyper compact. This whole thing has a full frame sensor and can fit into a large pocket. There are a ton of other lens choices on the market however.

I never understood this camera. What's the point of a small full frame, when you're attaching an f/5.6 lens to it? If they had a few small primes it would make a lot more sense.

I love this camera and it is one of the few things I paid almost full price for in my life. I use everything Sony when it comes to full frame and compact, but this is my one exception.

I have this kit plus a few other lenses. The 18-40 zoom in this kit is very compact - it is smaller than some micro 43 lenses when not extended. It makes for a great travel camera. You can carry it...

the camera doesnt have a capable mechanical or e shutter, essentially a travel video camera, and for that, it's absolutely amazing IMO, just not good for photos.... my daughter likes a more hybrid...
