I have a 30' permanent above ground pool and have one of these. It works great. BUT, I have 1-1/2 hp pump with a sand filter. I would be surprised if it worked with those little Intex cartridge...

Good point. Wonder if anyone has experience with the Aquabot robotic vacuums. Seems like I might be better off spending about $30 more to get a new heavy-duty pump with sand filter and that...

one of the Walmart reviews mentioned the hose set up on the 14' is different than other because said reviewer had a salt pump from a larger intex that couldn't connect to this pool due to hose size. ...

That's the one I want! I've had the blue metal frame 14'x42" one for at least 5 years, and it's still working fine, but showing it's age. The extra height would be nice, and the sturdier Ultra type...

The filter is my issue two. I burn through these pumps and filters. They are junk. How much did your sand filter and pump cost you? Will most any pump/filter system work for this pool that I might...

Just a reminder on any of these types of "liner" pools. When you take it down for the winter don't store it in the shed or other freezing environments and your pool will last much longer....the...

My experience with the exact pool here is that the liner is pretty tough. A groundhog even tried to dig a tunnel under it and it is surviving fine. Seems to have some decent strength so far. I...

Definitely a heavy duty sand filter. Check craigslist. My pool doesn't get used very often, and I keep a solar cover on it. For me, the filter and a chlorine floater takes care of most cleaning. ...

A decent pump with a sand filter plus proper chlorination will keep the water sparkling. There will always be stuff - leaves, dead flies, dirt -- that settles on the bottom and needs vacuumed out...

Any recommendations for the filter? How is the electricity usage compared to the default filters? I saw reviews saying those robotic vacuums save power compared to a strong filter pump.
