Go into settings, about device, software update, check for updates. If that doesn't work, go into settings, go to application manager and find "AT&T Software Update". Tap it and then clear data...

T-mobile S3 does not have LTE . Its the Note 2 from tmobile where the chip is not activated

Unlocking doesn't allow you to use tether on AT&T... and even with other SIM, it might not work unless the software that monitor is removed. Only option would be root and remove the software that's...

FYI, if you are seeing RAT_FREE_SUPPORTING as option 4, you need to update your modem/baseband to be able to get this work. I updated to I747UCLH9, then these steps worked.

unlocking it has nothing to do with a blocked IMEI so it won't solve the issue unless you go onto another carrier

If you are not able to use it on T-mobile right now (but you said you found out after 2 months of using it - so i am not sure), you can't use it on the T-mobile network unless they unblock the IMEI....
