I just scored one in Palmdale CA, it was in the rafters open box. It is dusty and has a couple scratches, but worth $50. The guy pulled it down and was amazed when it rung up $50.

What you probably found was one piece of a top and bottom set. The ones that they clearanced out were just lonely tops that were not packaged as part of a set and had different SKU numbers.
