I realize this player isnt wireless, but does anyone know if this can be connected with a cat5 cable to stream netflix? Debating on which device to get my mum.

I'm thinking that no, you can't do this. The specs on LG's site said nothing about a cat5 connection nor the ability to stream Netflix through it. This is pretty much just a plain disc player with some USB file playback options. But that is all I am looking for myself. I already get Netflix through the Wii. I like the fact that his is guaranteed in stock for 1 hour.

It has HDMI only for out put and a coax audio output. It has USB input to import your pictures or files from a flash drive. Has no composit RCA jacks, has no coax video, or no Ethernet for computer input. So no Netflix streaming which was I bought it for in the first place.
