This is my first post. Please be gentle :-)

Despite the Seagate LP having slightly faster RPM speed, it's actually more power efficient than Samsung F4 and significantly more than the WD20EARS.

Although both the F4 and WD20EARS are quieter than the Seagate LP.

The Samsung F4 runs much cooler, though thanks to the fewer platters.

Just FYI. I have way too many 2TB drives of many kinds, haha.

My experience with ZZF has been outstanding be it for prices, purchases, or returns. In fact, for hard drives I prefer them to the egg even for a slight premium if only because their packing tends to be more thorough. Unfortunately they don't stock as much as they used to, but for what they stock I always receive it faster than things from the egg. I realize that's dependent on customer location but for me it is what it is.

As for that drive, I'm not so sure. Too much kid-gloves required for their stuff lately. Oh for the Seagate of old.

I always see differing opinions on WD vs Seagate vs Samsung. I too have at least one of each of the three, and haven't had a single problem with any HDD I've owned over 500MB (covering the last 3 years).

I have seen various problems with WD EARS drives, and seems like everyone swears off the Seagate drives (not sure why because going back to the early '90s I haven't had a single bad Seagate drive - ever). Would general opinion be though that Samsung is the best of the bunch for 2TB?

After reading some reviews, the feeling I get is that this drive is just good enough. If you're like me and are simply looking for the extra storage space, it will do just fine. If you're in the market for a super quick drive, then you're probably better off with something else.
