Hi guys, does anyone here have any experience with "certified preowned" items from Direct Tools Outlet? I'm interested in a router and I cannot find any good reviews from any buyers. I saw on this forum another post from 2017 but not much info. This year they have a free shipping deal and kinda want to get something if it's in good condition.

Not sure about "certified preowned," but I've ordered a new air tool from them, and they shipped it after some days had passed. Received the item without issue or damage.

I bought the preowned zig saw and skill saw from them. They are fine. I just use them occasionally. So I cannot attest to how they may last with daily use. But for $11 to $15 each, free shipping, they were a good deal.

This is probably the worst customer service I've ever encountered


1. directtools doesn't ship my order after 45 days

2. directtools fails to contact me about the issue

3. Once I reach out to directtools they cancel the order

4. directtools then raises price of the item

5. directtools refuse to honor the price I originally paid nor attempts to make amends for any of the inconvenience

Placed an order on Sunday. Their system charged my credit card. I never received a order confirmation. I called this morning and no order in system while charge on my credit card. I asked if they could just complete the order. Customer service said to just re-order at the regular price. 20% promotion and free shipping over $150 Labor Day weekend promotion to be lost. Their mistake as I am not responsible for their system even though it charged my credit card. They did confirm my credit card was charged.They refused to place the order they charged my credit card for. I am done doing business with them! They could have at least fulfilled the order THEIR SYSTEM screwed up!

There is a store in my location so I use then a lot. If you buy a factory blemished product it is new in original packaging. They do sell refurbs in brown box packages. They can be hit and miss with refer quality. I have a huge collection of ryobi tools due to the ridiculous sales they have. But a few of those have crapped out too. Maybe go with ridgid because they have a lifetime warranty on their tools.

I have also bought products online without any issue. I get free shipping to the store.
