Just an FYI, they did fix most if not all of the random glitches and bugs in this collection with patches last year. I think it's a pretty good buy at $20. As long as you have the patience for old JRPGs and haven't been too spoiled by all the handholding newer games do, the first 2 Grandia games are some of the best.
Just a heads up, this port wasn't a particularly great one:
I can only speak for grandia 2 but there wasn't really any section where I remember it being grindy. I was able to go to area to area without level building.

These are remastered with better controls and enhancements for quality of life. If you enjoyed them then you'll enjoy them now.
Haha Ive actually never played them. I am usually okay with grinding but dont know where this falls in terms of that. I dont want to hit brick walls, you know?

There weren't any quality of life improvements on these from what I recall, unless they added some post release? I remember looking forward to it and nearly all the reviews said it was a lazy/poor port with no quality of life improvements.
I loved the original Grandia. The game, start to finish, was amazing- such a lighted hearted/fun story and a great battle system. Grandia II was good too and had a better battle system, but I didn't find it as charming as the original.

Grandia 2 at least you CAN'T grind, enemies are all visible (no random encounters) and once you kill them they're dead forever. Game is almost totally linear, as long as you kill the monsters you come across you'll be fine level wise.

Grandia 1 aged really well with its artistic look. Grandia 2 maybe a better game but it did not age well. I have a lot nostalgia for the first game and paid full price for this collection. I think it's worth buying at $20, but I can understand it being a little expensive for newcomers.
