That's the Smart Ass medium roast, and as someone else said, comes to $6.66. The Kick Ass dark whole bean is $8 after discounts.

I would say it's pretty good but it does feel over hyped, definitely not the greatest coffee I've had

Agreed. And a lot of times when you see these sorts of discounts on Amazon, it means they're trying to clear out old stock that is getting close to its "best by" date.

I'm pretty sure that happens with most of their food/beverage products, but it's standard practice in the industry for logical reasons. However, if you're using whole beans for cold brew, it's a little more forgiving when it comes to taste. While some of us can taste the difference between fresher and older roasted beans, many can't. If you just drink coffee for caffeine, I recommend cold brew. Coarse grind the beans and use between a 4:1 and 7:1 water to coffee ratio depending on how strong you take it. 24 hours in the fridge or 12 at room temp. Just a rough guide...

The only acceptable use for his coffee. Tried all their lighter/medium roast coffees, all of which are highly over roasted, and just plain not good. I tried to give them a chance with several different brewing methods and testing various grind sizes and water ratios. All terrible. But as you say, cold brew is much more forgiving and these might be okay.
