I would HIGHLY recommend the BIC Xtra Bold pens. Just got some from a previous slickdeal and they write VERY smoothly. It feels like writing with a gel pen and despite being 1.6 mm, it's line thickness is about the equivalent of a 0.7 mm gel pen. Sadly, only the multicolored packs are on sale (not the single color packs of black or blue).
