Saw this earlier.. wasn't using this card anymore but now it moves to be top. Wish all Amex still had extended warranty option though..

I stuck with BMO, they qualify Walmart and Target as grocery stores. AMEX does not. Good for Amazon though.

There is a special link to get an additional 10% off dining for the first 6 months. I think you can find it on doctor of credit. Also, there's some good Amex offers on insurance and cable/internet purchases.

does Costco.com come under 3% category? Any one any luck ?

I think I remember reading shopping clubs like Costco, Sam's, and BJ's don't count for online retail

SERIOUSLY??? My preferred Amex Blue I pay over $100 per year just to have earns 1% in online and this one triple that?? I'm definitely going to cancel my Preferred Blue. This is ridiculous and a spit on the face to customers like me who have paid annual fees for over 10 years...
i had that card for 1 year, and then just asked for a transfer to this card instead, just talk to their cust support via chat and theyll change it.

I always hear ppl mention their warranties getting extended with an Amex card. Does this one do this? Or is it a different card.

This is my number 1 card, however Costco, Walmart, Sams, Target, etc doesn't qualified for groceries category.

It has to do with the way the payment is processed. I know I've bought a few things from websites where it didn't qualify because they run the payment as though they're brick and mortar stores (Netflix doesn't count, for instance).

Walmart.com qualifies as online purchase though, so you could get around the grocery limitation by using the website/app to order and then pickup in-store. Not sure about Target since there's not one in my area, but I imagine it would be the same way. Best Buy works this way as well.

I believe you can get around that by ordering your groceries from their website/app and picking up in-store. It would categorize against online purchases instead of groceries, but if you aren't spending $500/month in online purchases, may as well do that.

If this is your #1 card for groceries you should get the Amex gold. It gets 4x on groceries and dining. Yes has annual fee of $250 but you can get $240 in credit via the card benefits every year.

Amex MR is also worth more than the 3% cash back this card offers.

Thanks for the recommendation. However I've already opened Venmo for wholesale clubs specifically. Its 3% cashback and referenced as Grocery. No annual fee.

No problem. I used to think cash back was amazing and I had the blue cash preferred too for grocery 6% but realized how much more I could earn via points with all the ecosystems (chase UR, amex MR, citi, etc). Redemption of points for flights and hotels > cash back.
