I wouldn't buy this. Have an older model that has been OK but Shark will fix nothing under warranty, even tiny parts require the purchase of an entire new brush head… then… they negotiate the price when you refuse!

I was wondering how the battery would be on refurbished.

I have a very similar version of this and it works really well. I gave it to my daughter for her studio apt and she loves it. My biggest complaint is emptying the container because you have to remove the vacuum tube. But that's minor.

Planned obsolescence is decently well known with shark. The thing is the price is usually so much better than a Dyson, you could buy 2 or 3 for the same price as one Dyson. This is with similar real life cleaning ability as shown by YouTuber "Vacuum Wars".

I've had shark for years, I love it! I prefer the one with 2 brush rolls. I have never used the warranty part of it.

i've bought a few of these refurb sharks, and they are obviously used, but still a good deal. The battery operated ones still have decent batteries, one of them going on for 2 years now with no noticeable degrading. I like the vacuum so much I do want to buy a second battery, but from the shark website it is almost as much as I paid for a refurb, so next time maybe i'll just buy 2 refurbs.

I can concur. I love my Shark Duoclean Apex. However, beater bar gear broke. Had to argue with Shark as they claim THE ENTIRE HEAD UNIT is a wear item and not cover by warranty. After 45mins of arguing, going up the chain of command, etc, the most they finally would do is take 50% off the price of a new head unit.
Vacuum sucks wonderfully and very easy to use and ergonomic. But doubtful I'll by another.

So I currently have a Aposen H251. I got it really cheap a few years ago but it doesn't suck and that is what vacuums are supposed to do. It has enough suction to pick some things up but then it will spit them out the hose when you turn it off. My question is, does this thing suck?

Wanted a cordless vac mostly for hard floors. I've had Sharks as my main vacuum for many years and been happy with performance. Last two were refurbs and had no issues. Ordered a cordless Vertex refurb from Buydig. It was in poor condition and not usable. Not just used condition but banged up with tears in the roller and a hole in the casing. Buydig refund process was relatively painless. Ended up purchasing a Hart cordless at WM for $99. Works great and has replaceable battery.

This is my experience as well! I actually like the vacuum an okay amount, but it has started to screech. I also had another product from them that the brush got stuck and it started smoking a bunch, Shark wouldn't fix it and they legit wanted to charge me more for the part to fix it than I paid for the vacuum in the first place.

Seriously, don't get this unless you are okay with tossing it once it dies.

I highly recommend getting a similar one from costco so that you can just return it easily.
