No this is Xiaomi, a different Chinese brand.
However all companies spy you to certain level, Google had surrendered location history from Android phone to police and fined by EU for privacy law, Apple had just started slapping app store ads in everyone's face.
If you care enough, there is an open source Android app named gadgetbridge will allow the band to work without proprietary app & cloud syncing.

I get that they're trying to make you feel more like a smart watch than fitness tracker but the usability greatly deteriorated after this change.
To date, no offical band 6 watch face available for band 7.
Besides, the AOD will shorten the battery life to ~2 days for me, that being said I still found it more comfortable for sleep tracking than bulky real smart watches.

All I can say is the tracking data provided is different than galaxy watch 4 and apple watch 7 by a considerable margin however when I look at the ratio of "deep sleep" and "shallow sleep" I would say it does match my overall feeling of tiredness level.
Yes the tracking is fully auto for all type of sleeps even during day.(I have advanced tracking enabled not sure if it is required to track all type of sleeps). Just remember there is a delay in data processing and sleep record appearing in the app.
