This pack is for individuals. We send enough seeds to start a garden that will fill each person's life with health and happiness and contribute to regenerating our Earth. That's quite the garden, all from one envelope in the mail!

With 10,000 packs shipped every season, it is our most commonly requested kit. It helps us put thousands of free seeds in the hands of beginner gardeners, those with low access to seeds/food, and those growing to share their bounties.

After filling this form out, you will receive an email from us by February 1st 2023 to let you know if you will be receiving a pack.

If you live in an apartment or don't have much of a garden...

Many cities allow you to plant food (for the community) in a traffic circle/roundabout/traffic island/median. First, check with your city transportation department to obtain a permit first if necessary. In Seattle, they are free.

Not so much food availability "scarcity," but food AFFORDABILITY scarcity.

And it's not confined to the Third World.

Victory Gardens definitely need to make a huge come-back in America.

Food wouldn't be very available or affordable if everybody grew GMOs, as it's illegal to attempt to salvage seeds for a 2nd season.

So there's that...

And most commercial farms using GMOs still spray heavily with both herbicides and pesticides, so what's the point?

Please, when you order seeds, remember that you've ordered them.

Scientists are more confident about GMO food safety than they are about humans causing global warming, not that evidence will persuade anyone like you.

In order to provide Free Seed Libraries to where they will be used we will require the steward to get 20 signatures from people in the neighborhood who would use the library. Would you like to do this?

Man this is such an invasive and long questionnaire. And they want signatures? You're kidding me

The confidence intervals for those two examples are about as close to identical as any two I can come up with right now. Not a great choice of example.

We're more confident about the safety of food from transgenic crops than we are about the safety of using soaps with tea tree oil. We know for a fact that all currently cultivated GMO crops are lower risk than, among other things, traditionally cultivated potatoes, cottonseed oil, and cashews. We're more confident in their safety than we are in the safety of the active ingredient in most toothpaste. But we're also that confident in substantial human contribution to climate instability.

With possible food scarcity, I hope this helps people find some modicum of self sufficiency.

Evidently you work for Monsanto or similar
Do research

Maybe you should take your own advise. Monsato GMO seeds are the worse things on the planet, there are GMO seeds that are develope to use less chemicals and to increase yields.

Their point is correct though. There is no scientific reason to oppose GMOs on principal.
The issue, and its a big one, is the ethics people work with regarding GMOs.

Make sure you meet the requirements before applying:
Please only apply if you match one of these so that we can be of best service to the community. We are a small organization that can not fulfill every request placed.

- would not otherwise be able to afford or access quality seeds
- grow food to share with others who have low access to healthy food
- first-time gardeners
- are using the seeds in an educational setting
Most requests will be rejected. They really want it to go to low income community gardens and this freebie is on multiple sites. They need to find a better way to distribute the stuff.
