Header: I'm genuinely curious, don't disregard as crapping on this item.
I've been looking at these for a while. Ever since they came out many years ago. But I've never jumped on it because I still don't understand it. I've watched videos and gone online to read about it, yet I still think it's an unnecessary item.
What can you do that a tablet pen and app can't?
Evernote, Google Keep notes, office 365.
Or even just a note pad and pen and use your camera to save, upload, and send images of the documents.
Am I missing something? Someone who has this can you explain it. I'm genuinely curious. The idea sounds good, but it also sounds like things I already do. Unless I'm not using it properly (intend to use it properly). Would this be more effective and efficient?

It probably comes down to personal preference. I prefer writing notes on a notebook, even though I do everything else on my phone and PC.

I've actually gotten used to using an iPad and a knock-off apple pencil. I prefer it so much more than traditional pen and paper. Which I preferred. The ability to grab and move whole sections of writing to add in something else is my favorite. Plus all the different colors to be more organized.

I like mine and use it nearly every day. It's not something I'd pay full price for again but at this price I would. For my use case, the little added convenience of being able to designate where you upload it to quickly is the main benefit for me.
Using the beacons for whiteboards has come in handy, too, but you don't have to have the notebook for that. And I totally get why people would hate the slick paper, but it doesn't bother me. I'm a big fan of the Frixion pens, though, which I also use on regular paper almost exclusively now.
In short, if you've been curious for a while now, I'd say if you can find it at this price it's worth checking it out.

Thanks for your feedback. I think if it's available I'll jump on it and try it out. Maybe it might work out. They've always been much more than I think is worth it.

For me it is light, doesn't use batteries. Not a big deal if I lose it. Can shove in any bag without worrying about breaking or scratching a display. Sure a regular pad works but the app and predefined scan area makes digital back up easy

I was forever grabbing a pad or, worse, expensive 4x6 post-it notes throughout my work day for quick notes while I was on the phone. Taking notes on screen into my agenda or OneNote just didn't work for me. Then there were the extra sheets of paper used for temporary tabulations and brainstorming activities. When I left my last job, I ended up with a pile of notebooks and stacks of paper scraps that I boxed and brought home. Most of it ended up in the recycle bin. So many trees killed. My current job is hybrid and I was already lugging 3 notebooks between my office and home office within a few months. I found my first Rocketbook on clearance at Staples and started scanning notes into their respective buckets and erasing those temporary scribbles. I use a letter size Core notebook for meeting notes while in the office, a smaller topbound notebook for walk-throughs and now have a Fusion to keep in the home office. The special pages are useful for personal stuff (I just wish there were 2 of each of those pages) and I have a bunch of lined pages for meeting notes. No more lugging around an extra bag! My recycle bin is lighter too.

That's awesome! And exactly my point.
