While I don't have this model I can tell you that this tablet is all about... BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK.
The issues to me are all about ho often and up to when... are the updates for the OS. I don't expect much BUT so I would not use this tablet for banking and try to keep if from many purchases if the OS is not up to date.
I think this tablet is AMAZING for the price and it is so hard to get a 8.4" tablet... I have the Hauwai Mediapad M5 which is a 8.4" tablet which no longer gets any updates. I still use it for gaming and watching movies are as a spare tablet.
AND it looks like this tablet is kind of up to date and may get a few updates.
ALLDOCUBE is a tablet player and is respectable.
I actually bought and received the iPlay 50 Pro Max, and so far am VERY impressed. As you stated, the update situation is my only lingering concern, but from what I've seen on XDA, it appears there are GSI builds that do work on this... so in due time, maybe I check that out.
I know this is a random Chinese tablet... but I'm very curious as to hearing experiences with this brand.
This tablet is not that radom. Alldocube has been making tablets for many years but they never came with WideVine L1 support and the BIGGEST issue is that you are getting this tablet and you need to expect to never have updates.
I personally just purchased the iPlay Mini Pro 4G LTE Tablet. It is slightly better but does not have Widevine L1 support. But I am OK with that since I have many ways to view my media...
To me this is SO MUCH BETTER then the Fire HD8 Plus. And there are very few options with this form factor. I have a Huawei Media Pad M5... I never got it unlocked and it is stuck at Android 8 where some of my software is starting not to work. My M5 is still an amazing media tablet and cans still play most games... but I do like this form factor and I jumped on the iplay 50 Pro.
BUT if you are not savy get this tablet because it has WIDEVINE LEVEL ONE SUPPORT!!!
So I also have a Samsung Tab S8+ but when I go on trips I like to bring my $130 tablet or my $90 tablet. s
This might be a weird question, but if this is from China (from a relatively unheard of company) is there any chance they could be accessing our passwords from various sites? Like Google accounts, or credit info?

LOL, CIA/ FBI may be much more interesting for your passwords than Chinese.
Google already have all your passwords..
Do u understand most websites already deployed MFA to make the passwords irrelevant...
If anyone's interested, the Pro version of this tablet is on sale for $134 on Amazon right now.
Link please
Looking for a tablet for a kid who is 6 now but the longer it can serve the better
I was initially leaning toward the Lenovo P11 Gen 2 running on Android12L
Is the aldocube offering better bang for your buck?

Yes and No.
P11 Gen 2 has the same CPU as the iplay mini pro BUT it also has Widevine L1 support.. which may be important towards your kids.
I can tell you that my 10 year old, ONLY watches Youtube or plays games. Never ever has my kid watched a movie or TV show on their tablet.
For $130, I think the "Iplay 50 Mini Pro" is the best bang for the buck for a very decent budget tablet.

I think you should get a Chromebook Tablet. Chrome OS is the most secure OS in the world.
40% of Android devices worldwide running older versions that no longer get security updates. Those phones, hundreds of millions of them, were and are inherently unsafe to use.
So you are not worried about the 40%... and you are worried about buying NEW with up to date security and up to date OS.
You do realize that "ALL (almost all)" tablets are MADE in china...

Biggest difference is 8.4" VS 11.5".
Thank you.
Kid is 6 most common use case are youtube, some educational apps etc.
Just so that I am clear P11 Gen 2 has Widevine L1 support you are saying right?

Yes.
Almost all tablets that are sold to US have L1 support. It is the Chinese tablets that some do and some don't.
For a 6 year old I would personally get a "alldocube - iplay 50 mini pro". Very stock Android 13 which you can install parent controls. But I think a kid will have less of a chance of breaking the screen of a small tablet then a big tablet.
Temu has ALLDOCUBE IPlay50 Mini Pro NFE for $118.99. Cash app has 15% back if you shop in app. I just bought one and the item is actually shipped from amazon so I received it in two days. But you cannot use Temu coupon on it.
If you're going to get one of these, I highly recommend paying up a little for the pro version which has a much faster processor and buy from Amazon so that shipping won't take so long.
