Note that the wired version of the Ultimate controller does not have the hall effect joysticks. 8Bitdo should have given better contrasting names to the 3 versions (wired, 2.4g wireless, bluetooth) of the Ultimate controller. The wired and 2.4g wireless versions do not have the hall effect joysticks, making them far less "Ultimate" compared to the bluetooth version.

For the people considering the Switch/PC/Android version note that the X Y A B button layout is Xbox-style, not Nintendo-style so button labels will not match in-game labels for Switch unfortunately.

I don't own this specific 8Bitdo controller but I have one of their $35 wireless controllers and it has much better build quality than a $20 PowerA wired controller.

And the bluetooth version doesn't work on Steam Deck and only comes in a Nintendo layout. Overall, a pretty suboptimal product stack. You have 3 different controllers called "Ultimate" and yet none of them actually do everything you would want them to.

I spent a long time trying to figure out which one to get, and then bought an open box Elite 2 controller instead. It has both 2.4Ghz and Bluetooth, and pretty much perfect compatibility with everything other than a PS5/Switch.

I bought one last time it popped up here. Decent controller, but the analog sticks are not sensitive enough to very small inputs for FPS games, if that makes sense.

You can also buy the buttons for the other console layouts from 8bitdo if you are comfortable swapping the buttons yourself
