My current phone is on it's last legs. It shuts off unless plugged in. I do have my work phone that I'm using as a backup - but I don't put apps on it, etc. Should I jump on this or struggle thru Black Friday to see if there are any better deals? I'm sort of torn on this vs the 7 Pro. I know the 7 Pro comes with mmwave even if you buy it unlocked, but I also read mixed things on mmwave and if you really need it, etc.

This and the 7 Pro are very different phones, and mmwave is only a small part of the difference. You might want to sit down and determine what features you need and then make a decision.

I get most of the other features (better processor, bigger display, better resolution, larger battery) on the Pro, but I find that phones last me 2.5 years on average. So with that being side, price plays a big factor. So while the 7a is 'less than' in the areas mentioned above, I suspect it would meet my needs.

Pass. With the Pixel 6a having sold at $90 at Metro for about close to 6 months, I just can't justify buying a midrange device over $300. Call me spoiled, but I'm waiting for this to keep dropping as we get closer to the Pixel 8a launch and/or the holidays.

Processor is the same Tensor 2 in all Pixel 7 series phones, regular 7, 7a, and Pro.

If you could, just go and do the best buy trade in with iPhone SE. The math works out if you trade in, it's $160ish and $275 after tax for the pixel 8. So $440ish. This is $400+tax, so close to $440 too.

We also had 7 pro for 320 in March!

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a trade-in deal for this soon. You could get a 6a last Black Friday for free if you traded any almost any other Pixel model.

It's a shame MetroPCS is out of the Pixel 6A because they were selling that for $50, 90 because he had to get a plan. Pixel 7a is a better device because it has wireless charging but I don't think it's $300 better.

Maybe in a year or something pixel 7a will be bundled with prepaid carrier plans
