Lowest price on this 'open' version in recent times.
Thinking of getting this and selling my 'closed' style Cap hex bar.
Sleeves are also much longer on this, room for more plates or wider bumper plates.

Update: Just ordered one. Hope it arrives without getting all banged up. Thanks OP.

I ordered this a few months ago and have been using it almost daily. For $70 this is a steal and if you never used one, this is a good entry unit. Do not expect it to be a super nice hex bar that costs like $300+ from the big brands. This is perfect for the budget home gym folks.

I had a closed hex bar but sold it because I hardly used it. Do any of you use a hex bar for anything other than deadlift?

Paid 100 for the early version with the shorter sleeves about 8 months ago. Nothing mind blowing, but I use it weekly for deadlifts, rdls, and bent over rows. Even did some curtsy lunges a couple times, little awkward but it worked ok. I'd absolutely do farmer walks with it if my halls were wide enough.

absolutely insane price for something like this, but for me personally, reports of having little to no knurling thanks to the bar being PAINTED over rather than being finished with black oxide or something of that nature means that this bar is going to be slippery as all hell. if you deadlift anything over 400 you will need straps or you will need a whole new bar. beginners to intermediates could use this no problem.

Switched to landmine squats and deads and probably not turning back. Core stability and arc stability seems comforting at my age otherwise would have definitely bought this a year ago looks like a great deal

A good review of it

I think this is for the older model.
Want to get it but storing trap bar is a pain in garage gym. Anyone has any good ideas for storage?

Also it is always around 100 at walmart.

I also use mine for seal rows because the offset handle gets me a few more inches range of motion for the pull.
The knurling isn't as good with this as other bars like someone said. There is black paint over the knurling which makes it inconsistent and less deep. I use gloves and it hasn't been a problem so far, but I may switch to straps as my deadlift gets closer 400 like they mentioned.
Still, for the price I get a lot of use out of this bar and do not wish I had spent more on a 'better' one.

Is your street/sidewalk wide enough?

Just piling on the positive reviews of this bar. I got it for $100 early this year and despite being a legendary cheapskate, have no regrets on missing out on this better price.

I've only used it for deadlifts, but doing those without pulling a straight bar through my knees was always very difficult. I got it just a little wrong once and tweaked a lower back muscle, had an uncomfortable couple of days recovering.

It's so much better with a hex bar - I do more deadlift reps now and have slightly increased weight - likely to continue very slow increments for both.

The design of this one has one small annoyance - with one 45 plate on, it will tip until that reaches the floor. It only needs a little nudge to get level again to put a plate on the other arm, and then remains level for further plates. It also doesn't fit my bench rack - the plate arms would be in the J hooks. Not a problem for me, but both probably avoidable with more expensive hex bars.

I do bent over rows because it forces you to use the proper form where you row more to your pockets, to avoid hitting yourself.
