Product Name: | BalanceFrom Olympic 2-Inch Hex Weight Lifting Trap Bar 1000-Pound Capacity Open |
Product Description: | BalanceFrom Olympic 2-Inch Hex Weight Lifting Trap Bar 1000-Pound Capacity Open The BalanceFrom Olympic 2-Inch Hex Weight Lifting Trap Bar is a high-quality durable piece of equipment that is perfect for anyone looking to improve their strength training routine. With a weight capacity of 1000 lbs this bar can handle heavy loads making it ideal for deadlifts bent over rows and squat jumps. The regular and raised handles give you more grip options when working out and the hexagonal shape of the bar helps you isolate muscle groups so you can tone and tighten specific parts of your body. Constructed from fully solid heavy-duty steel the BalanceFrom Olympic 2-Inch Hex Weight Lifting Trap Bar is built to last even with repeated use. The extra-long loadable sleeves allow you to add more weight plates giving you a greater range of muscle contraction and development during your workout. Multiple knurling positions ensure your convenience and safety during your workout while the 1.97 bar end diameter ensures that the bar fits all standard plates with holes 2 or less. The open frame of this Olympic Hex Trap Bar allows for additional functionality that is not available with a closed Hex Bar. Because of the open back users have more space to position themselves around the bar and are able to perform additional exercises to that end such as ab roll-outs lunges and many more. |

Thinking of getting this and selling my 'closed' style Cap hex bar.
Sleeves are also much longer on this, room for more plates or wider bumper plates.
Update: Just ordered one. Hope it arrives without getting all banged up. Thanks OP.

I think this is for the older model.
Want to get it but storing trap bar is a pain in garage gym. Anyone has any good ideas for storage?
Also it is always around 100 at walmart.

The knurling isn't as good with this as other bars like someone said. There is black paint over the knurling which makes it inconsistent and less deep. I use gloves and it hasn't been a problem so far, but I may switch to straps as my deadlift gets closer 400 like they mentioned.
Still, for the price I get a lot of use out of this bar and do not wish I had spent more on a 'better' one.
I've only used it for deadlifts, but doing those without pulling a straight bar through my knees was always very difficult. I got it just a little wrong once and tweaked a lower back muscle, had an uncomfortable couple of days recovering.
It's so much better with a hex bar - I do more deadlift reps now and have slightly increased weight - likely to continue very slow increments for both.
The design of this one has one small annoyance - with one 45 plate on, it will tip until that reaches the floor. It only needs a little nudge to get level again to put a plate on the other arm, and then remains level for further plates. It also doesn't fit my bench rack - the plate arms would be in the J hooks. Not a problem for me, but both probably avoidable with more expensive hex bars.
I do bent over rows because it forces you to use the proper form where you row more to your pockets, to avoid hitting yourself.
