This is such a weird item. The body is machined aluminum, actually much higher quality that I would expect from a TV show tie-in item. Uses 2 D cells, odd these days but is inline with the light it's emulating. It is not super bright, being only 150 lumens. Under any other circumstances that would be a deal breaker for a light this size, but again, the low lumens matches up with the type of old incandescent flashlight it's meant to emulate. So I can't decide if it's a bug or a feature. And it's not useless as a light, it just isn't the sun-in-your-hand a lot of modern lights are. I do wish they used a warmer LED to really get that 1980's flashlight feel from it.

Definitely a feature :-)

This is an awesome flashlight! I bought 4 of them last post-Christmas when they were on sale for $7 each. Very well made. Very durable. The style built is old, circa early 70s, with a modern bulb. Put 1 in spouse's glove box & gave kids the rest. All liked the gift. This is a very pragmatic gift...a dad thing by stereotype. Graphics are fine but it is the great functionality that makes this a super product. This is on par with the quality generally found in a product sold by Ace Hardware stores.
