The DreamStation 2 is Philips cut every corner to make the cheapest possible CPAP to fill their recall responsibilities, CPAP.
One of my Philips System One's was replaced by a refurb DreamStation. The other was replaced by a new DreamStation 2. The DreamStation 2 is the least favorite of my CPAP's. The DreamStation is my most used because it has heated tubing which prevents rain-out and gurgling and the water tank can be filled without removing the water tank. My AirSense 10 comes in between the two Philips. I use gallon jugs of distilled water and popping out the water tank on the AirSense 10 is just an extra step to deal with.
Between the Philips System One, Dream Station, Dream Station 2 and AirSense 10 I find ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE in the quality of my sleep... other than rain-out and gurgling of unheated tubing occasionally waking me up with the AirSense 10. Putting the AirSense 10 CPAP on the floor and strategically routing the tubing causes the rain-out to run back into the CPAP water tank which does a pretty good job of eliminating the gurgling for me.
I have 2 friends (grumpy old men like me without much patients to waste money on unneeded doctor visits and "sleep labs") who I order CPAP's and CPAP masks for. I gave them links showing how to put the CPAPs into "clinical mode" and make adjustment to pressure settings. With AutoSet CPAPs you can really just SWAG the starting pressure then adjust it based on where the AutoSet ups the pressure setting to. You need CPAP log reading software like OSCAR to tweak the settings for yourself.
The whole sleep Dr field is quite the scam in my experience. I haven't been to a sleep doctor in 15 years. My general practitioner writes me a prescription every 5 or 6 years when I request one. Sleep Dr's have never tweaked my CPAP pressure settings for better therapeutic results like I do for myself.
Both the 10 and 11 are AutSet. If you have an Apnea event while sleeping they will automatically up the pressure delivered to minimize future Apnea events. I can't say for sure but I HIGHLY doubt there is any difference in the AutoSet technology or the algorithm they use.
You might want to get a tubing / hose "cozy" to insulate your tubing and prevent rainout.

They are just a piece of fabric that wraps around the tubing to keep the heat in which keeps the moisture from condensing.

I feel like a different person. I was always an insomniac, couldn't sleep through the night cause I kept getting up and always dead tired in the mornings only to repeat the cycle every night.
I'm glad my partner made me get a sleep study lol. I never would've gotten it myself (& would've been too embarrassed as a single person tbh)
A medical professional writes a prescription. You can order any lab you want, but you still need to see a specialist. It's like complaining that your STD positive test didn't come with a prescription for antibiotics.
My payments cover the CPAP machine itself plus all the various accessories, hose, headstrap, full face mask, carry bag, etc.
