Looks like T-Mobile is offering a hidden $10 hotspot plan ($15 before Auto pay). This is for consumer and business accounts. It's for BYOD hotspot devices only and connected laptops (so no phones or tablets). Looks like you will have to contact T-Mobile to get this. There will be a $35 activation fee as well. See the attached flyer and link for more info.

Hello, here are a few more images (attached) and some info regarding the consumer version of this plan.
The SOC code for the plan is MI30TI for taxes included plans (most people) and MI30TE for taxes excluded (those on plans like simple choice that don't include taxes).
I was personally able to sign up for this plan on a new account earlier today via T-Force on twitter (@tmobilehelp). I simply asked for the "Basic Mobile Internet 30GB Plan". I also had a spare SIM card laying around that they were able to activate immediately, and they kindly waived the activation fee (called "DCC" or "Device Connection Charge"). YMMV on if they're able to waive that fee though.
Also, if you ever did the T-Mobile "free trial" that came with the free hotspot to use, that device will technically work for this plan, but you won't have 5G since it's an LTE modem.

I had a question of how to activate this SIM without a hot-spot if it was to be used on a phone - Found this reddit thread as an answer - https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/...&context=3
Is code correct. Sams rep is entering coupon code and not working
Yes, discount ID 240046 is correct. I just did a web chat and confirmed second MI30TI line for only $5/mo after autopay with that promotion. I can't do it though, because you cannot have cancelled a line in the past 90 days, or they have to re-activate the line. I did the free 50" TV w/ 5G home internet promo and cancelled that line within 90 days... so I have a few more days to wait until I can do this.
It sounds like your rep might have had no idea what they were talking about (there are a lot of reps like that out there with most any carrier). One person in this thread previously mentioned they were also told that they'd get the "buy one, get one half off" deal but I don't think they ever confirmed it and multiple other users chimed in to say their reps specifically told them this deal is not eligible for that discount. I would be highly skeptical of anything that rep said and watch your bill for a few months even if the first month looks right (in case they added a one-time discount). It would be great if you got the second line for $5 monthly but I probably wouldn't hold my breath waiting to see it come through.
I have four lines total - no sign of any "buy one, get one half off" deal.

It sounds like there's an additional promo code that needs to be entered for the second at half price deal. And I think some previous posters said their reps said it couldn't be combined. So it might be a matter of getting the right rep who will ring it up that way when adding the lines.
So yesterday I chatted to open up 2 lines ($10 + $5). Rep said no fees. Only $1 authorization on credit card. A $10 pending chart showed up after she completed the order. She said no worries, it's just temporary hold. And then this morning, I got an e -mail from T-Mobile that a payment for $10 has been processed.
Anyone know what this $10 charge is about? At first I thought it might be prepayment for the first line. But that doesn't make sense as this isn't prepaid. My only other assumption here is it's $5 per SIM card that was shipped to me.

How to open the web chat?
I am not able to find the chat option online
thx
how did you contact them and what did you ask them to add a new hotspot line?
please help.
Try Costco T-mobile sales line (Google it). The discount is auto applied because of the ongoing promotion. Rep will confirm. If you're trying to open just one promotion line, it has to be within 15 days of opening a full priced data line. Otherwise, you have to open 2 lines together to get the discount on the second line. You also have to keep all the other data lines on the account active for at least one year from when you signed up for the promo line to keep the promo discount. Otherwise, they will remove the promo discount because you basically replaced full priced lines on the account with promo lines.

The phone rep (in India, I think) said it was taxes when questioned, but not certain I credit her explanation.

I got hit with a $10 charge for opening the 2 lines. The charge has posted to my credit card so they charged me for something, although it is not clear what since the rep said I am not paying anything to open the 2 lines.
I also see a $22.50 bill due in early June. The 2 lines are supposed to be $15 total with taxes included. Does anyone know how they would have reached $22.50?
Going to my account details, it says $15 total and all discounts are applied ($5 auto pay discount off main line, $5 auto pay discount off 2nd line, $7.50 discount off on 2nd line).

This coupon code started in Feb and applies to the second line of a data only order. https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/s/N4OBAExTF4
