Samsung has their ViewFinity S9 27" 5K monitor for sale at $999.99 as part of their "Discover Samsung Winter Sale". I was able to login using AAA to get it down to $949.99, which is a small discount.

This monitor was heavily hyped as the first true Studio Display competitor, but the reviews are extremely disappointing. See Amazon.com reviews for more info, I don't even think it's worth it at $850

Get this of the LG 5K? Issue with LG is ghosting burn in. Studio display is outside my budget.
Really glad this monitor is taking on the studio display. We need more bright, accurate, high-ppi monitors out there. Unfortunately this doesn't quite cut it. Still, glad to have another option.
I have 2x Dell u2723qe 4K displays. At actual 4K resolution and no scaling, you need serious eyesight to be effective. 27 inches at 5K, you're buying pixels for no reason.
Then there are the bad reviews for this particular unit.

(I'm using a studio display right now)
No this doesn't cut it at all and the build quality is abysmal.
