The dust bin is much smaller than the other models and stuff gets stuck really easily. I returned a new one when a corner of the gasket curled. If you want something light the V8 is still the best, and if you want more suction/function go for the V11 or V15.

The V8 bin emptying mechanism is different and dirt falls out easier despite the size.

I have a dyson animal ball as my main vacuum, but it's clunky and doesn't get into the small spaces so I was hoping this would be an easy in-between for daily use. Not worth it. Going to wait for a V8 refurb from their ebay store instead.
It is far from trash but you have to be mindful on its limitations. Rarely do I have to empty out the bin mid cleaning. However, I do prefer this one over a larger V 15 due to how much lighter It is and easier to maneuver. Especially if you are using it as a handheld for smaller cleaning projects. your hand will get more tired with the larger and heavier V 15.
It's perfect for hardwood or vinyl floors. The laser is a game changer. A lot of people complain about the small dust bin, but it's just a matter of emptying it more often. The smaller size is easier on your hands and even easier to maneuver. I've tried the larger ones in the store, and the added weight got annoying after awhile, and also made my wrists a little sore.
There is a really nice turbo mode that is awesome on carpets, but it drains the battery quick.
In my opinion, it's the perfect vacuum for daily use. When you want to do a deeper clean on carpets, use a corded vacuum.
