I bought the same model maybe 2 months ago for $1300. Extremely happy with it. I do a lot of research and in the $1500 price range this was the one that everybody recommended.

I went into November hoping the QM8 in 75" would get under $1200, and if it did, I would bite. Then that walmart deal on the 2022 6-series dropped and I ordered one of those for $700.

Then the last mile shipper for Walmart, an outfit call "Air Support", somehow just "lost" my TV after shining me on for days rescheduling delivery. Walmart gave me a refund, but would not honor the sale price again.

So, I gradually started to upsell myself into the LG B3 77", and was bracing for spending $1800. Then, this QM8 finally dropped to $1083. Ugh... I should probably just spend for OLED but... the QM8 would still be a big upgrade from my 5 year old TCL 65R615.

So, settle for a more modest upgrade at a better pricepoint with QM8? Is the OLED $700+ better? Will the B3 drop further if I hold out? I'm in decision gridlock and this QM8 price will probably go up again soon.

I saw the messages here in this thread saying the price jumped back to $1300. I had one in my cart at $1083 just to check shipping dates, so I panicked and just hit checkout and (barely) locked in the lower price. Nothing like a price jump to force a decision.

What did you go with? Depends on your use. OLED is 100% worth it for daytime vibrant scenes but will crush blacks in dark scenes and you will lose valuable details. Plus I've seen lots of people complain about juddering and edging luminescence on all the ones I was looking at, that's a no go for me.

I have the r615 too and man it is still a great tv, there is just slight blooming on the top right of screen and that area I only see it when the DV logo comes on for a second when starting a movie. I don't get the inky blacks like OLEDs in scenes in the dark with fire or light but I also don't lose any detail. I'm just looking for a larger screen.
