If I don't wear glasses, would I need these?

I mean, I lose things often, so it seems like a multipack would be more my speed. Other 3M stuff can be found cheap if I dig around. Maybe something like t this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/325861368084

No, but 4 of these would cost $4.88 vs $12 for that ebay listing. There are non-3M 12-packs for about the same price, though some look like they break easily.

If your lab is for a construction or industrial class, then likely yes. If your lab is for chemistry, then likely no; they likely mandate ones that are rated for chemical splash. With those, the sides touch your skin on all sides.

I do woodworking and prefer these to regular ones cause it has protection on the under side. Wood dust and chips can get flung from under the face and get in my eye. I also find them more comfortable because they are sitting just slightly further from my eyes.

I don't have the 3M ones and I can't tell if these have the underside walls, but I would say yes, they'd be fine if your application is similar.
