I use the line trimmer with 4ah batteries, it goes about 30-40 minutes of normal trimming, enough to handle our 1acre lot. If you have it on high and are hitting thick weeds you could probably kill it in 15 minutes

FYI you have to sign in to brickseek now

Brickseek showed one store nearby with "Limited stock"
I found one up top, second overhead shelf. It was yellow-stickered for $229 but rang up $99
Now brickseek shows none nearby.
Good luck hunting
Thanks OP! Been looking for these separately but the combo was definitely better. If anyone still looking for one in Los Angeles, there's 7 more in the Huntington Park location on a pallet on aisle 3 lol

Edit: Confirmed both of my older 4ah batteries fit fine.

Picked up one in Northern VA on Sunday for $99 and just opened it today.

The string trimmer is ATTACHMENT CAPABLE. My Troy-Bilt polesaw fits it just fine along with my Hart edger and bushwhacker attachments (identical to Ryobi expand-it).

When researching this kit, i found it odd that it only came out last year in April. Why they are discontinuing the Ridgid line of outdoor tools seems strange to me. They must have sold horrifically to discontinue it in under a year but they aren't 40V and there was zero marketing done to sell these so its not that surprising.

With that being said, the Ridgid chainsaw kit may also be soon on clearance if it isn't already. I didn't see any in the 2 stores I checked for this deal but keep your eyes out. I think there was some kind of outdoor radio they introduced last year too.

I bought this set. If anyone else recently purchased, does the trimmer have a lot of slack where the top and bottom shafts join together? "slack" can be subjective, but IMO, mine has way too much.

Also, the battery does not fit well on the blower. It goes on easily, properly, on the trimmer. It's a pain on the blower.

NOTE: No matter what I tried, I could not get the tools to register on the Rigid (phone number) ...1710 site. It just would not take the number (LSA) from the carton. (Yes, I tried their notations, adding "VNM". I even tried "B", and BVNM, over and over for all of them. NO JOY

First call, Rigid ...1710 could not help me. The CSR sent me to Emerson. Second call, Emerson could not help me, sent me back to Rigid ...1710. Third call, the CSR opened my account, put in the number, said it worked, then I tried, and it worked. Then he tells me it had nothing to do with what he did, which had to be BS. (Why, don't know?) (Almost 3 hours total.)

So, if for some reason you cannot get your tool to register on the Rigid ...1710 site, and you call, have them open your account and tell them to enter the number. Hopefully, that allows you to then register.

BTW, Chat completely sucked (for me). It only gave me two options, neither of which were pertinent. Nothing I typed in helped, or allowed me to get a human.

Hi. Did you discover if the trimmer will take a brush circular blade by removing the trimmer line head (then attaching the blade with maybe a kit, or not)? I searched but found nothing.

EDIT I just started buying Rigid. If they are discontinuing a lot of things, maybe I should get rid of what I have already bought? Sheesh!

FWIW this late in the sale...
I checked Brickseek ("Bs") and it showed a possible stock at only one of my surrounding locations (South of Cleveland, OH)
I popped into two. The first one didn't have it and didn't ever seem to have it in stock.
The second store, which Bs said there might be stock, didn't have it. However, when that aisle employee looked up the store SKU on her lil' handheld device, it did actually show up as $99, whereas the general customer service counter computer showed it at the $249 price and online only.

So basically, trying to find any more at this point...as others have stated in prior posts... you need to go in and look for yourself all over, in both the garden/outdoor tools section and in the regular tools section. And find an employee in the aisle with their little handheld scanner. Give them the Store SKU 1008730113and they should be able to give you an fairly accurate stock count as well as it should show the $99 price.

And no, even if the store shows the $99 price, they/you cannot order it for store pickup because that will invoke the online price of $249. The employee said that it was likely $99 "in store only" because Rigid was trying to blow out remaining inventory levels. I 100% believe this because I work for the largest company in that space. And we are also trying to blow out all existing stock that was placed during the COVID years. (That really screwed a LOT of companies because we had to buy materials at exorbitantly higher prices, but then not lose our ass when the market corrected itself and MSRP returned to near pre-COVID levels.)

Just picked up one at Cleveland Hts store, they have one more, top shelf trimmer area

The head on this RIDGID seems identical to the ones found on Ryobi/ Hart seeing how all 3 companies are made by the same parent company TTI. I know there is a polycarbonate head you can swap onto the Ryobi's/Harts that has plastic brush blades on them but I'm not sure about a metal version. The brushcutter attachment I'm using was on clearance at Walmart for $20 last year and might still be available at some stores but its a very YMMV. It is https://www.harttools.com/product...attachment

and it is quite identical to the Ryobi version: https://www.ryobitools.com/produc...6396860286

As far as discontinuing stuff, Ridgid isn't going anywhere but these Outdoor power equipment tools seems to have failed miserably or TTI has something else planned for them.

Thank you. I will keep researching. EDIT I know some people use the Stihl brush cutter circular blade kit on their other brand trimmers, and it allows a circular blade to mount properly. I am going to buy the kit, then see if that works for this trimmer. If not, I will just give the kit and my blades to my neighbor. He has a Stihl trimmer that I know will take a blade.

FWIW, the blower included in this deal appears to be identical in appearance to one under the Ryobi name.

I will look into that. Thanks again. :-) EDIT Oh, I am just going to see if Rigid will replace my items. (I have not even used them yet.) From what I know, there are none left in a Home Depot anywhere close to me.

If you attach a stihl string trimmer end onto this it should work assuming it fits. I would definitely give it a shot. These "attachment capable" trimmers seem to be universal across all brands but there may be exceptions.

OK, thank you.

NOTE: I have been just referring to the KIT, not an attachment, (unless I misunderstood you and randonomous), which just may be a nut and some washers/bushings, or spacers. It's been hell figuring out because I have no way to actually compare any Stihl trimmers and if there are different kits for each. I am looking for a kit that has the most parts, and for a trimmer that seems like the one in this deal. A kit is usually about 10-15 bucks.

Such as: https://www.stihlusa.com/products...nkitmetal/

That is expensive. There are other Stihl kits and other brands that are much cheaper, usually without a guard.

TY again, people, I still got some good information!

They did not have them on ground-level display - they were stored high up on the shelves in the gardening section with all of the other tools - need the wheeled ladder to reach them.
