Y'all need to stop buying at these prices! We will never see the crazy Samsung sales again I'm afraid if these 'deals' are so popular!
want to share my experience upgraded from s8u to s9u
- performance wise, there's no difference noticed as I'm not power user who doing video editing on tablet or gamer who played high-end games. But one thing I noticed occasionally is in Dex mode when more apps are open, the lagging is fewer than s8u. not saying s9u has no lag at all, but smoother a bit when a lot of apps opened. But even that lagging on s8u did not bother me much.
- battery. This is the most benefit I would say worth the money and suggest to upgrade, if you care about the battery life. there're different use patterns people have, if only compare standby time or SOT (screen on time) for media playing, they might have similar battery time. I used both when traveling with hours of layover, and watching local saved h265 encoded movies, I won't say that have much difference on battery time.
However, when I use it in Dex and multitasking (usually one window for stock app, twitter app, one browser, one note taking app, chatgpt and YouTube in PIP mode), the battery time difference are pretty noticeable (I mostly turn battery saving on when doing heavy multitasking). I have to grab and charge s8u at lunch time for afternoon work, but with s9u I kinda have more confidence the tab can survive another 3hrs in afternoon.
Again, this improvement I noticed is not for everyone. with moderate use and mostly on media consume, the diff is minimal and may not worth upgrade. But anyone feels or having concern on s8u battery life, can try s9u and my exp tells it gets improved (maybe not the macbook M-chip type of long battery) and suggested to upgrade with a good deal price.
just my two cent
Watch out for a 40% off coupon in the email, if you have ordered s24 ultra(I'm not sure of other varient owners) recently. Did a pre-order with samsung directly. I got this email two days back. It should give you an additional discount.

I honestly have no idea where that came from. I didn't add it or anything. I added the trade in and the EDU discount. The promo discount just showed up.

I actually can't get it to replicate the promo discount in a different browser. Still showing in my shopping cart in Chrome, though.
That's for the 256GB storage. I can always save to an SD card.
Oh yeah , you didn't say that. The post was about the 512gb version. Sorry I didn't realize you were talking about the 256gb version. I can replicate that deal. Thanks for clarifying

Im getting same prices. Same promo discount. I just checked on the app. It should be a automatic promo discount. But these prices have been the same for weeks from the last time i checked

Looks like they calculated tax before trade in price. Mine is after.

It's dependent on what state you're shipping to. Cali and some other states charge tax on full pre-trade in price.
