If you are interested in saving $50: This battery is plug & play with an ES2, with the additional of a physical bracket + 2 screws. The app & scooter display immediately recognizes the increased battery capacity and range. A VERY GOOD CONDTION used battery + bracket can be acquired for about $80 from Amazon sellers promising 10 charge cycles or less, which you can verify with the NINEDASH app. Recharge time obviously increases but I have done this and it's very easy to do. You can get cheaper used batteries on ebay but they def look more beat up and usually don't include the bracket + bolts that are needed.

I got mine today which is exactly my birthday. Received an email about it at 5:46 AM PST. Hope this helps.
So I did buy a D18W scooter when this deal appeared. My order confirmation says "Placed on Feb 7, 2024, 5:33:04 PM" and the total says "Grand Total $152.76". I was aware of the $50 off when adding a second scooter (I experimented with that in my cart), but I was not smart enough to figure out that adding a $30 helmet would have given me that discount also. And I even like the design of these helmets, so I missed out double. For that I need emotional support.
Then the next thing is, there is something wrong with the scooter, but I cannot figure out exactly what. I knew that from the first ride, which I took more than 10 days after it got delivered. To my defense, it was raining here a lot and I was busy. I told myself I'll read up on it and also accept the firmware update and maybe that will help. I managed to not look at it again till 14 days after delivery, and at that time I told myself, either way, it is too late for a return now, so no point in rushing. Then it was raining again and I was busy again, and it wasn't until 3/8 when I started looking at it again and also realized that I could have returned it for free up to 30 days from order date, meaning now I had indeed missed the deadline by 1 day. For that I also need emotional support.
But now to the issue. FYI, I had the Hover-1 Journey and Hover-1 Pioneer scooters before. I have an idea how 250W continuous / 500W peak are supposed to feel. I also have the 250W Hyper e-bike. This D18W feels so incredibly weak, and it also has a quite audible motor control noise, but it is lower pitch than I would have expected, and I was immediately questioning if there might be something wrong with the motor control. And on my very first ride, right away I got the red thermometer, despite me going slow, and despite it being a cold afternoon. I reached less than 4 miles range. Meanwhile I did a total of 4 rides, and the last two were with the updated firmware. Even on my second last ride I again (at night in the cold) got the red thermometer, and it even refused charging afterwards for a couple minutes because of that red thermometer (while the display showed 3% SOC). My very last ride was the longest, where I reached close to 5 miles, but the last mile was with a single red blinking charge indicator bar, and I drained it until it completely stopped delivering any power. Even when fully charged, it does not have much power and it can barely reach the 15 mph even in S mode, if at all. I can also feel the motor getting warm, and I had never noticed that on the Hover-1 scooters before. And these Hover-1 scooters were so strong that they could reach 20mph (using a cruise control glitch that locked in on the motor control duty cycle instead of the speed).
Now for this D18W underperformance issue I need technical advice. How could I diagnose what's wrong with the scooter? I can't tell if it is an issue with the wiring, the motor or the controller, or just the battery. I'd think a wiring issue should be caught by self diagnosis, but I do not see any errors on the display. In case it is an issue with the battery, is there any way to diagnose it? Any special (Bluetooth) app that works with the D18W?
Thank you!
I sent it in for exchange and waited weeks before pinging them. They finally sent me another refurbished unit. Same as before: new scooter lasted 1 day before it wouldn't charge. Let's try again.
The third scooter I received was mostly new, but the handlebar unit was obviously VERY used. No problem since I had ordered a refurb anyways. This one was great! Worked just fine and I bought an external battery and braket. 22 days after it arrived, it completely, completely died. No display. No response to button presses, no charging, etc.
Really disappointed... I gave up and they were willing to give my my money back I'm stuck with an external battery pack, though...
