Summer travel and last minute deals
February 18, 2024 at

This summer I am hoping to travel a bunch with my son hopefully using last minute deals. We are both free this summer and he is a teenager so seems like a good time. Can anyone direct me to information about making the most of deals for flights and stuff if we are not really picky were we go. I am thinking fly into somewhere spend a couple days and back out.

P.S. Be wary of anything with adams apples, so stay away from the $15 cheap skanks no matter of the long time they offer.

Best Western is always a good place to stay. You can't beat the breakfast offered and if you're clever, you can grab a few things at breakfast to defray the costs of lunch. I usually grab a muffin, some fruit, a bagel or bread and some peanut butter and jelly condiments. Their points program is good too. Holiday Inn Express is another personal favorite for the breakfast offerings and ability to make a lunch.
I got burned too many times booking through sites like Priceline - if something goes wrong you have no recourse because you're booking with a third party. Running a Google search of nearby hotels and comparing prices each morning then booking direct with the hotel saves money. I also recommend booking flights with the airline and not a third party when possible.
