RCA RPJ167 1080P Home Theater Projector

I just got mine and I can either focus the right side of the screen or the left. Is it defective? Am I doing something wrong? Or should I order another and return this one? It's aiming square at the center of the wall….

How's the center focus? With the cheap optics, the center would be in focus and the corner very slightly out of focus symmetrically;.

Center is ok. And one side is great. The other is bad. Either way, ordered a new one and while the edges are a tad blurry it's not nearly as blurry as the one side was on my first unit. Also, fan seems quieter. I definitely keep the second.

Ordered Monday, arrived today. I will admit I am surprised by the quality - pretty bright, pretty sharp (as compared to the 5-year old 1080p TVs I have in the house). Not sure what I will do with it yet. My biggest question of application is how best to connect external audio to it, as there is only a 3.5 mm output. Would love to use this in place of my aged 65" TV downstairs, but I don't want to lose the receiver and 5.1 speaker setup I've currently got going. Any suggestions?

Wont drop that low until the next technology becomes standard. If you want a cheap decent 4K, get a refurb BenQ when it goes on sale. Think it was around $350-$400, but it's pretty decent.

I own a BenQ HT2050A but I want a cheap projector for outdoor movie nights. I've tried a couple of no-name ones from Amazon and one of them was decent enough, but only lasted about a year before the keystone stopped working due to ultra cheap plastic materials. The other Amazon one was junk and all the specs were a lie, including resolution.

This feels substantial, comes with a hefty power brick, and the video quality was immediately miles better than the cheap Amazon ones I've tried. Color accuracy isn't perfect, but quality is fine right out of the box without feeling like you have to calibrate it immediately (although I will eventually fine-tune it in the settings). On the Amazon ones I've tried the colors and contrast made them unwatchable right out of the box and the worse one couldn't even be calibrated enough to justify keeping it.

It is not super bright, but I'd say the claimed 450 ANSI lumens seems accurate. Bright enough for backyard use for sure, but not really bright enough to use during daytime with the blinds shut.

One downside is the fans are super loud - I can hear them over my soundbar at a moderate volume level. Not a dealbreaker for me at all, but worth mentioning. The other thing is that the keystone adjustment is extremely limited, so placement options are limited.

Most important is that resolution, contrast, and color accuracy out of the box were surprisingly in line with the claimed specs and I was able to plug in a TV stick and start enjoying it with zero setup. Very happy with this purchase!

Got mine - impressed with picture quality! Blacks are better than on my other led projector from reputable brand that retails for 1.4k. Does anyone know which DLP chip this RCA uses to get that quality for 65 bucks? One drawback is that it's a little bit noisy. Connected my Chromecast with android TV and started enjoying right away!

Does anyone know how to turn on hdmi-cec on this projector? I cannot control this device from FireTV remote. If it is not supported, any solution to this problem.
