Should just be its regular price by now with how often it goes on sale at this price. Bring back $60 atleast
The mah is the capacity of the battery/how long it will run. It does not affect speed.
this is $99ish since an year. i bought it last summer and it stopped working within few days. tried to get the support, but not got enough support. it may be one odd wrong product i got.. but just letting you know.

price is 99$ all most all around year

Thanks.

If you buy the 5100mAh battery will it go faster than the stock 20 mph?

Says it's 2s compatible. Invest in a 2s lipo as it will get you punchier acceleration and a bit more top end.

Great RC Car that goes pretty fast compare to other RC cars in similar price.
Get ready to do some maintenance after each run. Most commonly for us are the two (Red and Black) wires disconnecting from the engine and requiring some simple soldering. We also replaced the Diff Overdrive a few time already.

I picked one of these up a couple years back in the infamous $60 deal.

This car made me realize that even though I love driving RC cars, I don't really have the time/patience for the maintenance required for the hobby.

If it's fast enough to be fun, then it's fast enough to eventually break something. It's simply inevitable that you will end up replacing gears, steering, and other pieces over time. I'd wager I drove mine ~15 times, and I had to resurrect it on the work bench three times. Now the steering is broken and I just can't muster the motivation to go down yet another Youtube rabbit hole to fix it again, so it's just been staring at me from a shelf in the garage for over a year now.

Beware. If you want to get into the hobby this ain't it. We got one for my son last year and it was problem after problem. Parts breaking and not worth upgrading. Find a used better one on Facebook market or wait for something else

Same thing happened to ours. Stock steering servo has plastic gears. Search Amazon for "ZOSKAY 1X DS3218 Update servo 20KG Full Metal Gear". $15 easy swap with a screwdriver. Works well for us.
That weak servo gear may have saved a wheel spindle or tie rod from bending.
Upgrading individual components on an RC is an exercise in futility. The impact and force of impacts and abuse will break something. What to strengthen depends on what the new weakest link now is. Just some examples.... Alloy hub nuts can cause the wheels to strip out and more stress on the axels. Alloy steering knuckles and cause control arms to break, alloy control arms can cause the mounting to the frame to break or the shock towers, alloy axles move more stress to the differential and so on. Choose wisely and pick the sacrificial weak area. I have a tackle box of random parts in it and take it with me when I take my cars out to bash. Be extra careful in colder temperatures. Everything is far less flexible and far more brittle.

Here's a link for this car specifically.
https://www.arrma-rc.com/en/inter...=ARA102727

As frustrating as it can be to have a part break, these hobby grade rc cars are made to be repairable.

This is where I miss the kit RCs. My first real RC was a Tamiya Blackfoot and I built it myself so when it broke I pretty much knew where everything went and I tore that thing apart and fixed it countless times. These RTRs are great for just getting out quick and having fun but for new people, it becomes hard when you inevitably break something.

Hope your steering servo fixes your RC otherwise check if any parts like the linkage, servo saver, or anything in the suspension is busted. All parts are available and Jenny's RC is a great site for cheap(er) parts.

Also if you post a picture of the front end on Reddit /r/rccars I'm sure the folks there will be able to help.
Thanks for the tips! The servo replacement worked well and was a pretty easy plug and play. RC is working functionally again!

Mine arrived today. Hella fun with my 6 year old son. Loved having an adjustable governor on the controller. Told my son not to turn on "Daddy mode" but he ignored me and did so anyways. Runtime with included battery is quite disappointing. Just ordered the Zee 2S Lipo. Stock battery is 1800 mah which drains after 10 minutes or less. The Zee is 5200 mah. This RC is so much better than anything he's received from Amazon so far. I'm already looking into ramps.

Prob with these is once it breaks, your virtually done...I think you are waaay better spending a tad more and picking up a used traxxas that mom is selling on fb marketplace cause her kids are done with them...if you search regularly, there are some killer deals on fb marketplace for traxxas...if your kid is a beginner you can set a governer on the traxxas to limit the speed

This is incorrect. This model.like all currently available Arrma models, is fully supported. Parts are avail and cheap to replace.

Traxxas gets a bad rap in the hobby by the enthusiasts but the parts are plentiful and interchangeable which makes repairs and fixes easier if you have more than one model. That being said, Arrma has good parts support to and it is not a throw away item. I mentioned this is another post in this thread but these things do break. They are powerful and fast enough that you can destroy them very quickly. Their capabilities with brushless motors and lipo cells FAR exceed the materials and size and strength of the components if you are not using care. It could be the very first time you set it on the ground and run off and hit a curb. Having a decent stock of basic parts makes the hobby much more enjoyable or just don't hit anything.
Some people are into top speed and take them 50+ mph, one false move at that speed and the car is basically in multiple pieces instantly. That is an extreme example but applies across the whole spectrum. These are hobbies, not toys.

They can take some abuse though. https://youtu.be/eB9V1YkGPok?si=RDcC1LNZRnDMmt6f

Does anyone make one of these vehicles that doesn't constantly break under normal use? Or is that just the business model for the entire industry? I would happily pay $400+ for something that carries no expectation of needing stuff replaced vs. $100 on something that needs time & $$ every few times you use it.

of course they are, but this is more of a very entry level rc arrma (like something you'd buy at Walmart)...not what you think of the typical arrma...i have this and have $2k rc's as well (both traxxas and arrma) this is not nearly as easy to work on compared some traxxas/arrma rc's. they make better quality/spec'd granite models which are just fine (easy to work on/better build)...this particular one is not that.

They really don't. This will never break if you don't run it into stuff. Of course a $400+ RC will be more durable but it's also faster. Speed equals breakage sometimes when you wreck. Some people like maintenance/repair as much as they do driving.
