YMMV Found these at my local Home Depot (zip 18042) on the clearance rack in the electrical department while I was searching for the $8.58 50' Husky extension cords, which they also had. They had a whole case of these in white and a case of green also for $0.93.

My Home Depot had a box of them. Grabbed a few of them. Only 2 prong so keep that in mind.

PSA: 16 gauge wire means this is only rated for 13Amps. This could potentially start a fire without your breaker tripping if you try to use it like a normal wall outlet. (i.e., don't plug a space heater and run it at full power)

Great way to burn the whole house down for under a dollar?

This is a common comment to scare people across every single extension cords. Not everyone is running space heaters. Some turn on lamps too.

What gauge do you recommend we should be considering?

Haha I know, I probably shouldn't have made the joke but... it's too late now. Cheers

And to be honest it's really overblown. I've run very heavy power tools on the sketchiest power cords imaginable with no issues.

For a space heater, 14AWG; unless you have a 50ft+ cord, in which case you probably should use 12AWG.

Space heaters typically operate at 1500W on their highest setting. For safe usage, an extension cord labeled as medium or heavy duty, essentially 14 gauge or larger, would be suitable.

It's very rare for a high current device like high output heater to have a two prong plug, i can't remember seeing one in many years. Unlikely risk in reality.
