Do these make that annoying flywheel whirling sound as well?
It also has a decent amount of bad reviews mainly due to nail jams after some short time use. Wish they would clear out Milwaukee ones.
Hard to beat the Milwaukee 15g for $89 a few weeks ago at H.D.
Personally, if I were buying a nail gun I'd go with Milwaukee over Dewalt.
Yes but those were unicorns that mostly were grabbed by resellers that monitor forums made specifically for purpose of snatching those deals to resell for more.

That's exactly what they did, those Milwaukee finish and framing nailers are all over FB marketplace and ebay

Yes it does. Have one of these models at work. I much prefer the Milwaukee to this just due to no wind up.

I went for Milwaukee as well since that noise wasn't much better than my super quiet aluminum tank compressor and having already fuel line of tools made it best choice as well.
Stupid question, would 16ga be sufficient for wooden shingles exterior?
I would probably suggest 1/4" wide crown stainless steel staples (would last the longest) and crown holds better than thin trim nail head and the galvanized nails don't last that long when exposed to exterior weather and elements. As far as regular nailer then 15GA angled would be slightly better because nail would be slightly thicker and if used DA head it's more rounded so holds materials better and they also sell stainless steel version of those 15GA angled nails but those also cost more than galvanized ones.
P.S. From some of the reviews and pictures on HD website as well as videos on YouTube some people don't realize that this gun requires ANGLED NOT straight nails so most of reviews claiming it jammed on first shot or nail shot through magazine instead into the material did exactly that which experienced contractors should have picked up based on how magazine is positioned in respect to firing pin.
Be very careful that you only buy and use the 16G ANGLED nails. The STRAIGHT nails fit in without any issue at all. And if you fire. It will jam and pierce through the magazine cover
FWIW I have a family member in construction and they were not happy with the DEWALT battery nailers. Got one last week, had a lot of problems and went back to a new air nailer.
