Not sure whats been removed, but having tried both for a while, it's ENTIRELY about looks and battery life. Period..

5 Pro ,= MUCH better battery
6 Classic = Rotating Bezel

It's a personal choice. I prefer 5 pro. Performance wise, they are identical, both have occasional stutter.

What do people use their galaxy watches for? I feel like i always have my phone close enough by that reading messages/notifications on the watch seems silly?

For when you're busy and have your hands full or are dirty (happened to me 2 days ago and i was able to see why my phone was buzzing. wasnt drop everything important but at least i knew what it was) or when you don't want to bring your phone (if you have LTE) or not having to waste time pulling your phone out each time you get a new notification. I use my 5pro to check texts and notifications to see if it's worth my time to respond right now or can it be put aside for now and I can get back to them in a little bit. I use it to be more efficient with my time. others use it for tracking their health. others use it for their kids to have a way to track them and have a way to get a hold of them at school or after school in an emergency.

Yup, it's not worth. I switched to 6 classic from 4 classic w/ paying about $100. There's no difference at all. It still lags with a short battery life. :\

I use my old school watch active to just monitor my workouts, stress etc. I never use it for notifications calls or anything like that. It was free at the time anyway.

If you're looking for a really shit watch that doesn't track your workouts properly, then this is the one for you. Buy away my friends.

Any time I do incline on treadmill (which is every time I use the treadmill) it doesn't track steps. Maybe it's tracking it as stairs, I don't know. But in any case I've had issues with my non-classic watch6. Also had issues with my Watch4, where it would count steps randomly.

Also with the watch6 I have, it feels like there's some ghosting on the display. Didn't have that on my Watch4 or galaxy watch Active

If I could, I'd never have traded in my galaxy watch Active as it worked better than the Watch4 and watch6.
