    For Intel you can be guaranteed 7600mhz with any decent z790 board.

    Well aware, I know someone running his 14900K build on an XOC board with a custom 3D printed 140mm fan bracket just to cool the memory to hit 8000MT/s. While his 7800X3D rig is still having issues with 6400CL32 G.Skill Expo kit even after an RMA when he realized it was the CPU not the board.

    So instead of calling me clueless like a child, trying to boost your own little online ego...

    Realize I was trying to give a simple explanation to someone looking for a simple explanation, which should be self explanatory given that I told them to Google it for a deeper understanding if they cared enough.

    Even though this thread is an Intel bundle, 6000cl30 is still a good sweet spot not because of AMD's AM5 issues but it's the most heavily produced consumer RAM so it's usually the best bang for your buck (welcome to Slickdeals) & no one who is asking the question to begin with will be able to even notice a difference between 6000cl30 & 6400cl32, hell they wouldn't notice 7000cl28 with the tightest tuning ever over 6000cl30.

    Plus if they end up going with an AM5 bundle it's not going to cause them to buy RAM that highly likely won't even hit its advertised Expo speeds.

    lol active cooling to hit 8000mhz and not being able to hit 6400mhz cl32 is sad. Your friend is as clueless as you. A 6000mhz cl30 kit is 85-90 bucks wheras a 6800-7200mhz kit is 100. It is not just the difference in their stock expo/xmp speeds but getting a worse binned kit like 6000mhz cl30 opens the chance of getting 16gb m die instead of a die which really screws you over for intel.

    🤡, the friend I was referring to designs, does the purchasing and even gets flown across the world to oversee the installation of Tier 4 data centers for a living. Has a giant homelab server in his basement and just likes to mess around with builds. Probably why he has around 10 at this point.

    I don't see how any of those qualifications relate to being knowledgable about ocing ram. Massive difference between consumer and server hardware. You were giving poor advice and I corrected you. No need to get so mad.
