I don't wait that long, but depending on the vehicle, I may not have driven 5K miles in 6 months. So maybe the one rated for a year would be more appropriate in this use case. Then again, I'm not convinced that time frame is particularly scientifically backed.

strange that I can get an entire made in Germany oil change kit from FCP Euro for $75... That's the real deal on oil BTW, on your second oil change they let you ship back and return the used oil from your first oil change making everything free after your first one (other than shipping). It makes no sense to me but they do it.

I typically change it every ~5k because for me that means I go about a year or more between changes, but manufacturers usually recommend 6000-7500 miles these days.

Well, just ordered it with subscribe and save, and somehow they slipped it in with my order that will be coming in two days. Nothing majorly crushable in there, but hopefully they'll still ship it separately from the food items...

Few cents cheaper than Rural King, and for a 21 year-old Honda 4-cylinder that had a questionable service history, no biggie on brand.
