Do you have a suggestion for a better priced alternative product?
I've used these strips on multiple surfaces, from painted walls, to painted wood, to tiles and polished wood. I've probably used 200+ over the years as I wanted to avoid any damage to my apartments while I was renting. I never once had one of these leave a sticky residue. Yes, they're expensive, but they work extremely well and have never damaged anything I used them on.

Edit: it just occurred to me that maybe some people are seeing sticky residue because they're not following the directions for removal. If you pull the strips away from the surface they will likely leave sticky stuff behind. You have to pull them along the wall/surface in the direction the tab is facing. They will stretch like a long rubber band or chewing gum, and will not leave anything behind. The instructions explain this better than I do.

Annoyingly overpriced and the tech is far from revolutionary. Almost always leaves a sticky residue that's difficult to remove, compared to the strangely universal acceptance of their advertising.

As a homeowner, I love how straight I can place the portraits. I hate having holes in my walls

I was also looking for an alternative that won't leave a large hole in my apartment wall nor rip the paint off. These metal hooks work fine.
I bought a different variation which was slightly bigger than a nail.

Can I interest you in a new invention called "rubbing alcohol"?

132 pairs should stick an average size human to the wall.

I buy the larger ones at Sam's Club for about $12. FYI you can cut these in half and use the same way. I have frames and artwork still holding up just fine.

Some people don't want holes in walls (if they are in rentals), or maybe have concrete walls or wood panels etc (not every home uses drywall)
