Target also has a three pack for $8 more but the handle on this lopper appears beefier which I why I plan to buy it. For those with moderate needs, the three pack should work.

This deal is for bigger branches - 1", 2" off bigger trees and bushes. But heavy.
But it really depends on the things around your home that you need to trim.
...
.... Considerations and thoughts for those with a big yard:
Eg here, I have a 1x(non powergear) fiskars lopper that cuts fine through the thick branches. Not a lot given that my trees and bushes don't grow branches that thick by the time I give them an outline trim. (I'd need more powerful if cutting deeper into them.)
Those are sharp and powerful enough, and I prefer the lighter weight.
...
For the rare occasion I'm not using my Ryobi 40v pole hedge trimmer, my main tool, I do have a fiskars 2x shears. These are for the small bushes and the 2x in a shear is really where you need the extra leverage.
But once I switched to powered, well, they've only been used to trim grass and plants on a raised flower bed because the Ryobi makes trimming everything else so much faster.
The Ryobi is heavy, but I save 2-3x the time. So a big trim job of the backyard with 6 big azalea bushes that might take 6 hours with hand shears or 4 hours with an 18" electric hedge trimmer only takes 1-2 hours now. A lot of that is simply not needing to move a ladder around and the long reach of the Ryobi.
....
Nowadays, for my yard (6 big azaleas 10 foot, 10 evergreens/trees 12 foot+, 6 small bushes, long row of dividing bush, 5 roses) I'd say:
1. A small hand cutting tool. The Costco deal, hand shears for the lemons, small plants, etc.
2. Now I personally have roses so:
https://shop.coronatool
Eliminates the poking of thorns while getting into the tightest spaces to trim roses.
This tool HOLDS onto cut branches so you can extract them from deep within bushes and drop into the trash without letting go.
3. Lightweight lopper or long reach pruner

I prefer the long reach pruning stick because it can reach very far into bushes and trees, and cuts powerfully, but the lopper is handy when you're simply cutting big debris apart for the trash can.
Depends on how often you need this after switching to:
4. Ryobi 40v pole hedge trimmer

Takes care of most everything.

....
Beyond 2", you're really into a mini chainsaw, reciprocating saw with diablo 3tpi wood carbide blade, or oscillating multi tool to take down thicker tree branches, stumps, etc.
Ingenious manner to slide the comment section, please... continue.
