Too bad shipping is $52 for me which kind of ruined the deal. I have this ERV and was just going to buy it for spared parts.

Also, keep in mind this ERV was designed for new install rather than retrofit.

I didn't realize they made small versions of these like this. Do they make one to be mounted in the window? I'm not finding one. What would prevent me from rigging this one up to venting in and out of a window? The scenario is to use it where we have the cat litter boxes.

I don't know much about these but wouldn't an install for this unit be pretty similar to putting in a new bathroom vent, other than this unit probably NEEDS shorter straighter intake/exhaust runs to work properly.

Seems like some are confusing this with a bathroom fan. An ERV and bathroom fan are not one in the same.

What I don't understand is why nobody else is making these easy drop in ERV/HRV units. I've been price watching this Panasonic for so long that now I feel like there's MUST be an improved model coming out at some point and am scared of buyers remorse when it does. Easily the only good price I've seen on it in over a year. Well done.

I don't think it would like being exposed to the outdoors, so you would need to build an enclosure and duct it through a panel you mount in the window. So, a pretty clunky arrangement.

From what I have read, Europe and Asia are well ahead of North America in this area. Maybe because we have really only started building very tight, energy efficient homes for the last decade here.
