4080 can handle 4k no problem and even this crazy ass resolution is slightly easier to drive (7.4 million vs 8.3 million pixels) so you should be all set.

4070 ti is a solid 1440 card but you have to make some compromises one you're entering the super ultra wide territory

I run 2 of these on an MSI Raider GE 76 Laptop with an RTX 3080. I have a powerful cooling fan stand underneath as a precaution, but I game at full resolution on ultra settings no problem. Lately it's been Helldivers 2. It's a VERY pretty game. There are more GPU intense games but this one is no slouch. I play on max res, absolute max graphics, 240hz, no lags at all. My GPU temps stay 60-65 degrees C.

So in short, yes a 4080 will have no issue.

Agreed have an ultra wide and for gaming it's actually kind of lame. Most games don't support these resolutions or will distort the screen

I have and it's not great. Video editing is a chore because the screen is too dim. Don't attempt to game on it, I tested a few games with my MacBook M3 pro and averaged well under 60fps no matter what settings I tried.
